North Augusta Chamber Teacher Appreciation Banquet

Who knew that teachers could have so much fun? (And by that I mean, “teachers can be wild when they want to!”)

I am loading the Picture albums.. and as a bonus, I have video of some of the nights Karaoke performances! betcha cant wait to see those…

Keep coming back, they will be here shortly.

OMgoodness Busy!

These last few days have been ridiculous. Thursday I had to bring the cotton candy machine to school and help some PTO members/helpers start making 700 (!) cotton candies as a special treat for Science and math day (at 8am!), I had a bunch of stuff to do at work, my son had a soccer game, and I had a SmartKids.sc Board meeting that night. Friday I had more stuff at work, The science and math day presentation (I presented a demonstration on electricity to the third graders. A couple of them said it was their favorite of the day). And this morning? OMgoodness, A hot sunburnt day doing  cotton candy (again) for the carnival. Put a fork in me, I’m done. So is Kathi.. she went out and collected a mother-load of donations from small businesses around town. She probably raised a good 400$ or more for the teachers. Kudos to her!
Go here for a whole Album of pictures from the carnival

A special note to Local parents/teachers from other schools: Please let us (smartkids.sc) get involved in your school. The reason you read an innordinate amount of things going on at North Augusta Elementary,  is that I am a parent there. But the board members are not. we are incorporated to help ALL of the local schools. please contact us, and help us get involved in your school.

A special shout out to these local businesses. Please shop them whenever possible! They do the best job at supporting local schools and activities.

St Nicholas at Lookaway Hall

We had a successful day at Lookaway Hall sunday!  The pictures turned out great! And it was nice visiting with the people. I would really like to do this again next year, but we probably wont do it after the parade. I think we will try it before the parade so that people can hang out near us before the parade. Dont worry, we learn fast!

outlaw visiting St NicholasHere is a great example of the photos.. Mrs Outlaw allowed us to use the picture of her son as an example..

Thanks to all the people that came out to support smartkids.sc charity. We really want to help the teachers and students in North Augusta and Edgefield county South Carolina, and we can’t do it without your support!

And special thanks to all the people that participated in the event, including Lynn Thomson from the Living history park, Michelle with the Lions (who really organized the whole thing!), Rachel Franklin for getting us all together, and Larry Baratto for organizing Lookaway Hall and Especially Kelly and Dianna Combs, the new owners of Lookaway and Rosemary halls for all the support they have given us.

I am honored that I live in a place that has so many people involved in their community.

Thank you to all. Regards, Ed

Thank You: Susan Cromer

Thanks to Susan Cromer for donating materials to Katie Gates at North Augusta Elementary by funding project #60.
