I Just read this article. I was surprised by the severity of the numbers… That’s to say, how drastically sleep can affect performance and behavior. I need to make sure my kids get to sleep on time regularly! It’s important.

Curiosity Rover Sends back 360° panorama

You may have heard this week that NASA’s Curiosity Rover has landed safely on Mars. This is an amazing achievement for science! The rover itself is as large as an SUV and 15 times heavier than any rover sent to Mars. It carries a battery of scientific instruments to test the Martian soil and atmosphere. Back on Earth, scientists will stay busy for months analyzing and interpreting the new data. Findings from this mission may even pave the way for future human settlement on Mars!

St Nicholas at Lookaway Hall

We had a successful day at Lookaway Hall sunday! The pictures turned out great! And it was nice visiting with the people. I would really like to do this again next year, but we probably wont do it after the parade. I think we will try it before the parade so that people can hang out near us before the parade. Dont worry, we learn fast!

Here is a great example of the photos.. Mrs Outlaw allowed us to use the picture of her son as an example..

Thanks to all the people that came out to support smartkids.sc charity. We really want to help the teachers and students in North Augusta and Edgefield county South Carolina, and we can’t do it without your support!

And special thanks to all the people that participated in the event, including Lynn Thomson from the Living history park, Michelle with the Lions (who really organized the whole thing!), Rachel Franklin for getting us all together, and Larry Baratto for organizing Lookaway Hall and Especially Kelly and Dianna Combs, the new owners of Lookaway and Rosemary halls for all the support they have given us.

I am honored that I live in a place that has so many people involved in their community.

Join us after the North Augusta Christmas Parade Sunday, December, 6 2009. On the porch of Lookaway Hall, Georgia and Carolina avenue.

Refreshments will be sold to benefit the North Augusta Noon Lions Club – inc luding cookies, popcorn, hot chocolate, etc.
Photos - Children’s color 5”x7” photos with St. Nichols are $8.00 each (cash or check only)

Teacher Tools at the Science Center

I just came across these tool at the National Science Center in Augusta (Fort Discovery)
wow~! this is some real learning fun!
NSC Science teacher tools page. and the Teacher Resource page. To use the teacher resource page, you need to be a teacher member.. but look at the resources you can borrow and BRING INTO your classroom! amazing.

What a great resource the Fort Discovery is…
